The Applequist Farms Collection is inspired by my near and dear neighbors, the Applequists of course ;) We bought their family homestead in 2001, which is now our beloved home.
To give you a brief history, Leland's family has farmed this land for many years. We have watched him pour his heart and soul into this land day after day, year after year since we've lived here. The work is back-breaking and time-consuming, mother nature is not always forgiving and yet they still prevail and keep on working. In the summer, I have spent many mornings I have sat outside watching him cut the fields as the sun is coming up over the hills. It's very humbling and serene to see this man at one with the land he's caring for.
With the advance of technology and larger farming corporations, the smaller farmers are becoming fewer and fewer. This collection is dedicated to all the farmers out there who are still working to provide food and many of the ingredients in products we use on a daily basis.

Many of the elements in this collection have been provided by Applequist Farms. Approximate download size is 25MB. The elements are:
1 pc of twisted wire, 1 pc mended barbed wire, several pcs of wheat, 4 types of grasses/plants found in patures, 1 coiled rope, a fencing tool, 1 farmers glove, 1 wooden gate, 1 metal gate, a rusty pair of pliers, 1 lock, fencing staples, "No Trespassing" tire on a pole, an antique metal tractor wheel and one blank wooden sign.
